Vegas baby. Big sites, big issues
I am a first time visitor to Las Vegas. This article is going to look at how the #1 industry in Las Vegas has an almost Jekyll and Hyde relationship with the visitors to their city versus the visitors to their web sites.

First let’s look at how a first time visitor deals with planning the trip. We were staying at Caesar’s Palace, wanted to see Penn and Teller, visit Fremont Street, and watch the fountains at the Bellagio and maybe the Sirens at Treasure Island.

The first place I normally would go is the hotel web site and see what they had about getting around.  In this case I visit a site that is pretty much Harrah’s boiler plate. Dark, dated and literally nothing that tells me I am visiting a premier property in Las Vegas.

How we got Freehand to work with Mac OSX 10.6.2

The set up. Client had bought a new Mac Pro which shipped with 10.6.2. We were in charge of migrating him from his G5. Everything seems to have gone smooth except Freehand tosses an error on load.

To say this client needed his Freehand would be a little like saying you might need air for the next hour. He uses it all day every day and is in his words, "How I express myself and earn a living." Some would argue that social media isn't THAT important. Well, then why do it at all if it isn't serious business? Let me put on my "old-timers" hat real quick. I entered the workforce in the mid 1980's, right about the same time as computers did. The companies that took control of the IT department and ran it like any other department, succeeded. The ones that just hired some 20-something off the street and turned them loose, were doomed. Sure, a few got lucky but almost all did not.

How People DON'T Search
You know what that is? It is an icon of every plumber stereotype there is. You take a picture of a guy with one of those in his hands and you immediately think "plumber". I'm sure they hand them out at the end of plumber school along with the catalog of clothing that will show butt cracks by the inch.
